Renee approached me wanting family photos done at her parents property in Thornton. She mentioned that their beloved dog Axel (a Labrador x kelpie) was 15.5 years old and would love to get some photos with him before it was too late.
She wasn’t sure how much longer he had left in him. His body was being taken over by arthritis and it was becoming harder for him to move.
I didn’t hesitate to say yes. For anyone who knows me will tell you that I love dogs.

The date came however it was rained out. A week later we had the perfect night and we wandered slowly with Axel up the hill to our location with the stunning Cathedrals in the distance. A little surprise was their other little dog Sadie joined in. She was 9 years old, a little character, whose tongue hangs out to the side.
We had some gorgeous golden light, the kids ran around mum and dad, they were cuddled, twirled and a couple even flew. Axel and Sadie got some love before Axel wandered back down the hill as he knew it was dinner time.
Nan brought him back out and they all had a cuddle. A couple of tears were shed between us all.
Some beautiful memories on the land they love. Dreams were ignited here, and I’m sure they will continue to grow.
I can’t wait to capture you all again.
